- Just because the weather is turning colder - you don't have to stop paddling. The folks at the Kelsey Kayak club are just getting a new whitewater kayaking season rolling. They offer Taking The Plunge introductory nights, basic whitewater kayaking instruction, member paddling nights, all at the Harry Bailey pool, as well as club trips in the fall and spring. For more information, check out Kelsey Campus Recreation - River Kayaking Club . Some courses are limited to Kelsey Students, but club membership is open to the public.
- Want a winter activity for the whole family that won't break the budget - get your kids cross country skiing with you this winter. But if they don't know how to ski - then you need to check out the child and youth programs with the Saskatoon Nordic Ski club. Bunny and Jackrabbit programs for children starting as young as 3 will have your kids swishing down the trails in no time. Youth programs for children 10 and up focusses on developping that budding racing talent - while keeping it fun. For the dedicated teen racer - check out the HiPer (High Performance) group withing the club. But you might need take a lesson yourself so you can keep up. These programs get going in November but fill up quickly - so don't wait too long to sign your kids up.
- Tired of getting passed on the trail, or just want to make skiing more enjoyable for yourself through skill improvement ? Regardless of your motivation our drop in Cross Country Ski lessons this winter could be just the answer. Our resident NCCP level 3 Cross Country ski coach Kevin Robinson, is offering a series of ski lessons this ski season addressing both classic and skate techniques to be held on one weekday evening (evening TBD). The focus of the lesson will change from week to week so check below for a particular evening's focus. Come for one lesson or come for them all. Lessons will be $10 per evening, payable at the lesson, and space is limited. So if you plan to attend a lesson please call the store to reserve a spot for that evening. Lessons will be held at Kinsmen Park, or Wildwood Golf Course depending on the evening. Once the snow starts flying we'll post times and dates and start those lessons.

Before you hit the trails this winter, come to the store, browse through the great new ski gear, and learn how to wax your skis properly at the Eb's Cross Country Ski Waxing Clinics. Wax clinics will start Saturday mornings once the snow starts flying. The clinic is suitable for the total beginner as well as intermediate skiers wanting a refresher. And the clinic is free.
